Cloud Supply Chain is a Thing

Cloud is white hot.  Oracle, SAP, IBM, HP, Microsoft — they’re all in the mix, going full speed now.  As the moderator of this blog I’ll be tracking news and commentary on all things at the intersection of Cloud and Supply Chain, with a specific focus on how the information models that we’ve seen in social network platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook apply to B2B.  It is in this area of inter-enterprise commerce and process automation that Cloud takes on extremely powerful dimensions, giving companies more than just a more economic way of buying and deploying B2B software.  Cloud enables information models that allow, for the first time in history, companies to operate as organized and highly orchestrated networks.  The network operates around a single version of “supply chain truth” to ensure everyone is on the same page.  Collaborating companies automate processes at the network level, referencing this single version of truth — and keeping it current for all who need to know.  I look forward to the dialog!
